So here's the thing… Lately, I've been sorta completely obsessed with adding every animal species on the planet to my wardrobe. Some recents add ins include foxes, polar bears, and zebras..OH MY! From leopard, to zebra, and beyond, it seems every member of the jungle is finding it's way to the runway these days and of course into my closet.

When I want to wear a basic outfit (my current staples include a random top, black jeans and matching boots) without it feeling too plain, I incorporate one standout piece. I bought this fuzzy sweater this past November, and its weight is perfect for Austin "winter." It's been declared by various people as the softest thing ever. 

Autumn Classics

Since we don't really have leaves covering the ground in Austin, I make an effort to create a pile when  I come across them in more earthy settings. Thankfully, I was wearing some of my favorite riding boots that I've been practically sleeping in since the arrival of Fall. They're just wide enough so that I can casually throw them on over jeans (and pair them with skirts), but still manage to look polished.

I often speak very highly of Autumn, because it is my favorite time of the year. The holiday season is among us, the weather is perfect, and of course Starbucks has its Carmel Apple Spice. Another reason why I adore this time of the year is we all get to rock oversized sweaters, snuggly scarves, and of course riding boots galore.  

Sweater Weather

I've have accumulated quite the collection of white lace dresses over the years. But because I happen to be a lover of winter white and I happen to rock a lot of these frocks during summer & spring, I'm not too concerned. I've worn this one several times since I got it, and I love that despite its feminine details, this dress can handle a tough masculine jacket just as easily as a thin sweater layered on top.

Mean Girls

For those of you who haven't seen the cult classic that is Mean Girls, my shirt probably comes off as a little mean, but I can assure you it is only a quote. As a movie buff, I can honestly say that in my day-to-day life, Mean Girls is my most quoted movie, so when I came across this Brandy Melville tank that is very popular in the Tumblr world, it was the easiest purchase of the summer.

The Spotted Line

I'm not one for Polka-dots. For the most part they make me feel like a dalmatian, but when I stumbled across this black and white crop top, I couldn't help but pick it up. The black and white makes the top neutral and ready to be paired with anything, from some high waisted shorts, to this awesome cobalt pleather skirt. 

Summer Stripes

My infatuation with stripes (anything nautical really) started in the ninth grade, it slightly faded for tenth and eleventh, but inevitably started up again when I found this striped crop at Forever21. Stripes are a tricky concept and can easily be unflattering but I found that this cropped, shortened, slim-fit shape was the perfect way to incorperate this trend for the summer.

Garden Party

Theres something about plaid that's extremely comforting and something about flared skirts that is extremely familiar, so it was only a matter of time until the combination presented itself to me. Darker plaid usually feels heavy, but when paired with a such a feminine skirt I find that the masculine top is now spring/summer appropriate. 

Modest Mouse

It's safe to say I am growing up in a generation where showing more skin is becoming more socially acceptable. Although I've never been one to wear a turtleneck and long pants, I do tend to take the more modest route when it comes to my clothing. It's just more my style and its what I like. 

I tend to find inspiration in the old school, hence the Black & White. 

Biker Boots

Except for the occasional day when I feel like an angsty teenager, I’m about as far from being a punk/rock dresser as you can get. I’m usually in dresses, and not even my jeans have holes in them, but motorcycle boots was a trend I couldn't ignore. They are the perfect way to angst up any outfit.

I know it's belated but this was my Easter Sunday outfit.

 It took a long time for me to come around to pink. But one of my idols Audrey Hepburn helped me warm up the color.

 Like Ms. Hepburn, I too "believe in pink.  I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing...I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

Spring Cutouts

I am back from my visit to New York, and as much fun as it was, I was very excited to return to some warm weather. As much as I enjoy winter fashion, I am looking forward to pulling out the shorts from the back of my closet and replacing them with my jackets. But even though I love the warm weather, that doesn't mean I retire all of my winter clothing, like the scarf and jeans I am sporting in the post.

Leather & Denim

In my opinion, Leather and denim is a deadly combination. Leather by itself is sassy, Denim by itself is fearless. Put the two together, its pure magic. It's a dynamic duo, I often rely on to feel my best. I encourage all of my readers to wear what you are confident in. I know I'm constantly preaching about trends and what's in, but none of that matters if you aren't comfortable, and if you aren't being yourself. Find your dynamic duo, and remember the best accessory a girl can own is confidence.
