Color Combinations

Top & Skirt-Nordstrom, Floral Pumps/ Headband-Forever 21, Sunnies-Micheal Kors

I know it's belated but this was my Easter Sunday outfit.
It took a long time for me to come around to pink. But one of my idols Audrey Hepburn helped me warm up the color.
Like Ms. Hepburn, I too "believe in pink.  I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing...I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

I'll be your best friend I promise.

Leather & Denim

In my opinion, Leather and denim is a deadly combination. Leather by itself is sassy, Denim by itself is fearless. Put the two together, its pure magic. It's a dynamic duo, I often rely on to feel my best. I encourage all of my readers to wear what you are confident in. I know I'm constantly preaching about trends and what's in, but none of that matters if you aren't comfortable, and if you aren't being yourself. Find your dynamic duo, and remember the best accessory a girl can own is confidence.

A Denim Throwback

It’s 1985. You want to look preppy, rebellious and young. What’s the easiest way to do this?
Pop that collar, baby!
I know, I know, it's 2013, but as someone who is constantly in an 80's throwback with movie watching, I couldn't resist. (And It's not like I'm layering A&F polos people, I have some dignity)
Personally, I'm thinking James Dean meets The Outsiders
But in all seriousness, I am a firm believer in fashion throwbacks no matter what moment in time you choose to pay homage to. There was a reason it was in style to begin with.

Keep Your Heels High

There are a few questions I get a bit whether it be from my friends, or blog followers, but one I get quite often is...drum roll please...how can I wear heels to school? They ask me this because on occasion, I do I'm 5'3. When I wear heels everyone is still taller than me, so it really doesn't make a difference
First things first, I make sure they are comfortable and stick to primarily wedges, and thick heels. I would definitely make sure, before venturing out on this fashion risk, that  you can walk (strut even)! If you can't walk you will make a fool of yourself. I promise. And I will be here ready to say I told you so. Also bring a backup pair of flats. Better safe than sorry.
I get that some high schools are more fashionably accepting than others, but for those who want to try this, but are too nervous, I say, wear what you want to wear and rock it, who cares about everyone else?

Southern Appeal

Shirt-Forever21, Skirt- Nordstrom BP, Boots- Allens Boots, Aviators- Hand-me Downs

There are so many pieces I love about this outfit, I couldn't pick just one. Whether it be the cutout chambray shirt, the knee high western boots, or the full leather skirt, I adore them all. Being born and raised in Texas, means my wardrobe has little sprinkles of western inspired pieces here and there, but I try to spread them out as much as possible. I don't want to give in to any Southern stereo-types. Oh, and no I don't ride a horse to school.
