Jodie: Jodie Olivia

This english beauty is Jodie and she writes and models for the blog Jodie Olivia. When I stumbled across Miss Jodie's blog I couldn't help but oogle her style. She's the definition of casually chic. When she's not working on her fabulously styled blog she is drinking tea, listening to the Beatles, or watching Jeremy Kyle. I know, I wanna be her best friend too! I would love to know what made you want to start your own blog?

I think I started reading blogs like Zoella's, Sammi's (Beauty Crush), Louise's (Sprinkle of Glitter), etc. I found them so inspiring and thought it would be fun to start my own as I love taking photos and writing. :)

I know I love those girls. Well you just named a few but what are some other blogs you visit often?

Oh god, soo many! Bell's Fashion, Charmaine's Closet, Fashion Assault, Fashion Rush and The Lioness Blog are just a few that I always love.

Which designers and/or celebrities most inspire you?

I don't really know many designers to be honest, but I always adore what Taylor Swift wears. Especially all her red carpet dresses... she's just perfect!

Lip balm. A bit weird I know but I can't be dealing with dry lips haha.

Celebrity crush?

Ryan Gosling. And Olly Murs! <3

What are some of your beauty/makeup must haves?

I'm loving the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation at the moment, and the Maybelline One by One Mascara. Oh and Revlon Lip Butters are amazing! I also think coconut oil is a miracle product for hair.

Favorite Magazine?

I've had a Look subscription for ages. I also love Glamour and Vogue.

Most surprising thing on your iPod?

I normally listen to quite old music.. I've got so many 70's/80's classics!

Gotta love those classics! Some things you love about your Home/Hometown?

I live in a town nearish to London which is quite cool. My town is a bit rough though to be honest haha! There isn't much to do here and there's no scenery at all!

Favorite things right now (Movies, Tv Shows, Songs etc.)

The Notebook and Shaun of the Dead are a couple of my favourite movies. And I really love Friends, The Inbetweeners and Gavin & Stacy! I really liked My Mad Fat Diary when it was on but it's finished now. My favourite song right now would have to be Only Love by Ben Howard.

First things first, What inspired you to start your own blog?

I love taking pictures and I love sharing them. I've always been a fan of blogs and have had many before this one, so this was my final (and successful, so far) attempt :)

Love it! Gonna have to check some of those out, Which designers and/or celebrities most inspire you?

I definitely love everything Michael Kors & Marc Jacobs. I love designer but no so much the price, so most of the time I try and find some similar alternatives or go to Zara :). Some of my favorite dressed celebs are definitely Kelly Osborne and Zooey Deschanel. Kim Kardashian and I have the same body time so I am always inspired by her. I also love the way Kendall and Kylie dress (although they are a lot younger than me they dress my age.. hah)

Haha, that seems to be the general consensus. What are some of your beauty/makeup must haves?

I have definitely been into BB cream, must have some mascara (bad gal lash is my fave!) & pretty lips. 

-Favorite Magazine?

I'd have to say Marie Claire for the fashion trends & Teen Vogue for the affordability. Everything in Vogue and Marie Claire are usually way to expensive to even think of buying, I love how Teen Vogue picks items that are affordable for the college gal. 

Yep, Gotta love affordable. Most surprising thing on your iPod?

Probably Frank Ocean, I am not usually one for r&b and rap but I definitely love him.

My hometown is Houston - I love all of the shopping, food, and big city life there. My house was inside the loop so I was always around events and awesome places. 

And Finally, Favorite things right now (Movies, Tv Shows, Songs etc.)

My favorite TV show is Parks & Recreation, it is so hilarious! I also love How I Met Your Mother, I don't want it to end! I have a lot of favorite songs but a good summary is to listen to the Alt 18 countdown on Sirius XM radio channel 36 ;)

First, I would love to know, what inspired you to start your own blog?

Well, I have always had a big love for fashion, so that was a big part of it. But I mostly started seeing some other personal style/fashion blogs, and I would get so much inspiration from them, so I wanted to start my own, so I could start little collections of photos that documented my outfits from day-to-day, and also I could post up my own little photos that I've found inspirational, and hopefully there would be that chance that maybe someone else looked at my blog and found it inspirational for them!

I am constantly finding inspiration in your blog, What are some blogs you visit often?

The blogs that I find myself reading most often are Natalie Off Duty, Fancy Fine, In Susie's Shoes, Julia Topaz, Triple Thread, Classy Girls Wear Pearls, The Moptop and Flashes of Style.

I am inspired most my Audrey Hepburn, Edie Sedgwick and Steven Tyler. Odd mix, I know...

My phone, of course! I keep my phone with me at all times and I'm always on it!

I have a few celebrity crushes, but my top celebrity crush is Steven Tyler! He's been my top crush ever since I was little, haha! A close second is Johnny Depp, and after that is Mick Jagger! 

I totally could've guessed that one by your Tumblr. What are some of your beauty/makeup must haves?

 I don't really wear much makeup, but I am always wearing my mascara and lipstick and I always have to have them!

You don't need makeup, you are beautiful as is! Favorite Magazine?

It's a tie between Seventeen Magazine and Vogue. They are both very different, and they're both so good! I've been subscribing to Seventeen for quite a long time now, and I've actually been meaning to renew my subscription to Vogue, just haven't gotten around to it. 

Most surprising thing on your iPod?

There's nothing too surprising for me on there, but I do have over 200 Aerosmith songs on my iPod... does that count as surprising?

Thats a lot of Steven Tyler! What are some things you love about your Home/Hometown?

I love how spread out and laid back my city is. I also love that the beaches are only a few minutes away, and it never gets very cold here!

Favorite things right now (Movies, Tv Shows, Songs etc.)

My favorite shows right now have to be Vampire Diaries and the Carrie Diaries. I just can't get enough of those two shows! Gives me something nice to look forward to during the school week!

Thank you so much for doing this! Ever since the first time I clicked onto your blog I've been hooked. What inspired you to start your own blog?

I used to follow some blogs before I created mine and I found them to be so inspiring that I wondered if I could inspire others too. So I wanted a space where I could also share my pictures, looks, drawings and inspirations…that’s why I created my blog. 

Well, I am certainly inspired by you. What are some blogs you visit often?

Le Happy, A Pretty Pass, Amy Valentine and Chloe Ting, are my favourites and probably the blogs I visit the most. <3

Which designers and/or celebrities most inspire you?

My favourite designer is Alexander Mcqueen. When it comes to celebrities I love Jennifer Lawrence personality.

Nail polishes, nail polishes and nail polishes…I love my matte top coat from H&M at the moment, it’s really amazing. Concelear, rimel and lipstick even though I don’t wear it every day.

I love the weather here because it’s never too cold. And I love our downtown.

From the movies I have watched lately I loved The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Silver Linings Playbook. But my favourite all time movie is The Notebook. So tell me, What inspired you to start your own blog?

Actually it was my boyfriend`s idea lol. I was in holiday back home in Romania and I was getting bored, and since he knew I was obsessed with fashion he suggested me to open a fashion blog. He didn`t realize back then that this will mean he`ll have to make photos of my outfit every day. He always says now he`s too scared to give me any more ideas hahah.

I love finding new blogs around the world. Some of my favourites at the moment are: Gary Pepper Vintage, Angelicablick.se, Cindiddy.com, Song of Style.

There are so many designers I love! Jason Wu, Isabel Marant, Balmain, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu, Alexander Wang, the list is endless.

At the moment I would say my tan faux leather skinny trousers.

I never go out without SPF, the higher the better.

The red lippie has become a bit of a trademark on my blog; I always use the same red pencil from Nars in Red Square.

I have a few magazines that I buy every month: Glamour, Marie Claire, Instyle, and Vogue. However I like browsing through fashion editorials of international magazines as well, especially those from Japan and Korea.

Things you love about your Home/Hometown?

 I`ve been living out a suitcase for the last 3 years since I moved to England. Every year I`ve been changing houses, traveling, so I can`t really say I`ve found my “home” yet. But I kinda enjoy it this way, I feel like I`m in a constant adventure!

Sounds pretty amazing to me! What is the most surprising thing on your Ipod?

Kpop songs! I have no idea what the lyrics are saying but the songs are super catchy and great for dancing around in front of the mirror.

I'd always loved fashion but never thought about blogging it until my friend talked to me about it and the rest is history!

I am always looking for new ones to follow but the ones I've always followed are Pony Hunter, Lisa Place and Fashion Toast.

This beautiful girl is Anaivilo and she is the wonderful creator behind the blog The Wonder Fashion. So I would love to know what inspired you to start your own blog?

 Well,  I guess other bloggers inspired me to create my own blog. I watched other fabulous girls posting their outfits day by day, with our without concept, and it start me thinking "I could do that too!" Besides I was already taking photos each morning with my outfits before leaving for school and kept them in a folder. I decided it was time to share them with others.

And I'm so glad you decided to share! So What blogs do you visit often?

 I visit..tons of blogs, I barely manage to read them all, but I love  The Fancy TreeHouse, Steffy's Pros anc Cons, Pine Needle Collective, Flashes of Style, Style Scrapbook, Thrill of the Heel - fellow Romanian blogger like myself; K is for Kani, Jag Lever.. many many more.

And for more inspiration, Which designers and/or celebrities most inspire you?

I get my inspiration from diverse designers each season..I may like a entire collection one season, but the next, I may dislike it. However  I adore Dior-mainly the work of John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Burberry Prorsum, Missoni, Rodarte, Erdem. Celebrities... I love Gwen Stefani's style, she is so eccentric and yet so chic, so not in a vulgar way. I just love her.

I know she's an icon for sure, so what is your favorite item in your closet?

My favorite item in my closet... I think it's my vintage blue velvet jacket. It has a brilliant fabric, the buttons are unique and the shape is extraordinary!

 I used to have a crush on Daniel Radcliffe when he was younger and I was obsessed with Harry Potter, now let's just say that I fancy Johnny Depp..or Leonardo DiCaprio..or..Ryan Reynolds..or all of them!

I cannot live without my  black eyeliner, it really highlights my small eyes, and of course mascara helps too. And also, a sheer lip gloss really looks fabulous, so I am dependent on that too.

I have noticed you seem to be a pro at beautiful eye makeup! And finally,  What are some of your Favorite Magazines?

My favorite magazine has to be Harper's Bazaar or Marie Claire, I find their articles inspiring and they serve informations you don't really find on the Internet that easily.

Ok love, so tell me What inspired you to start your own blog?

      I have always loved art as a way of expressing myself and when I discovered blogging I felt it would be a great new innovative way to do just that.

I totally agree with you there! So What blogs do you visit often?

      I love a variety of blogs but two of my favourite at the moment would have to be Cool Girl Style and Frocks & Other Frivolities.

And Which designers and/or celebrities most inspire you?

       A designer which has inspired me for many years is Tory Burch. Her journey to becoming the owner of her own high-end fashion line having started from making designs in her kitchen is truly amazing. It reminds me that with persistency and commitment you can achieve anything!

I know she is quite amazing! This is usually a hard question but, What is your favorite item in your closet?

       I love my green Zara bag which I found for a great price on sale from their latest autumn/ winter collection. The bright green mixed with the faux fur panel makes it the perfect statement piece and I love it because of its unusual detailing.

      I cannot leave my home without my camera. You never know when you might need to capture an inspirational moment!

      I love to paint and draw in my free time, and of course blogging!

       In terms of style crushes I adore Lauren Conrad and Taylor Swifts style. They are so chic and feminine in everything they wear and a great inspiration for on-trend girly fashion.

I couldn't agree with you more there. What are your beauty/makeup must haves?

       Concealer! I am always up late studying so sleep is often limited; my Mac Select Cover-Up concealer is must-have for hiding all dark circles.

And how about your Favorite Magazine?

       Vogue! It’s an addiction. I love how Vogue is a very culture-orientated magazine and many countries have their own Vogue, so when I visit a new country I love to collect a new edition.

Things you love about your Home/Hometown?

   I live in the middle of the countryside which is frustrating at times as I am far away from any clothing shop. However I love all the beautiful scenery around where I live, and I try to capture the magic of nature in my photographs!

And you totally do love, everything is gorgeous! So for my last two questions...What is the most surprising thing on your Ipod?

   Usually I like listening to more indie rock styled music such as The Temper Trap, or  Two Door Cinema Club, however when I am wanting to relax or listen to music while concentrating on homework I like listening to classical music- Birdy’s “Comforting Sounds,” is a current favorite.

And finally, What Tv show do you wish was still on the air?

The Hills when Lauren Conrad was in it! Lauren was such a great feature to the show and it was a great loss when she left.
